Striker back on Hammers radar
West Ham are back in the hunt for Maxi Gomez, who could be available for a cut-price fee if Celta Vigo are relegated.
The Hammers were heavily linked with a swoop for the Uruguay striker during the January transfer window but a deal failed to materialise after they were quoted £45million to activate a release clause.
However, reports are now claiming he could be available for half that figure if Celta Vigo lose their battle to stay in La Liga this season, which would be a huge saving for the Hammers.
Gomez joined Celta in the summer of 2017 and promptly fired homed 18 goals in his debut season for the club. He has nine so far in this campaign despite playing in a struggling side.
West Ham are not the only interested party though as Premier League rivals Liverpool are also said to be keen on the player, who may end up costing just £23million.
