Wanyama news gives Hammers hope
West Ham have been put on high alert after hearing Tottenham are reportedly looking to offload Victor Wanyama in January.
Kenya international Wanyama slipped down the pecking order last season with just eight Premier League starts to his name, and he has failed to force his way back into the thinking of Mauricio Pochettino this term.
The 27-year-old has made just one PL start in this campaign and Spurs are ready to sell the midfielder, who is currently out of action with a knee injury, in the January transfer window.
West Ham are believed to be tracking the Nairobi-born star and manager Manuel Pellegrini, who took charge at the London Stadium in the summer, is eager to wrap up a deal in the new year.
The Chilean tactician wants more depth in the midfield department after losing the likes of Jack Wilshere and Manuel Lanzini to injury, and a move for Wanyama could be on the cards if the price is right.
With the Kenyan's current deal expiring in the summer of 2021, it is thought an offer around the £15-20million will be required.
