Zabaleta holds Europa hope
Pablo Zabaleta insists West Ham's target remains securing qualification for next season's Europa League.
The Hammers will head into Monday's home clash with Premier League leaders Liverpool sitting in the bottom half of the standings and seven points off seventh place - a position that could be enough to secure Europa League qualification.
A run of three straight defeats, two of which have come in the league, has severely hampered West Ham's progress, but Zabaleta remains confident they can challenge for European qualification come the business end of the campaign.
"Against the top teams, we've been playing really well. But we've failed three or four times to get that seventh position," Zabaleta said ahead of Monday's match at the London Stadium.
"That's something we've been talking about, how good it would be to finish seventh and to try and play in the Europa League next season."
West Ham won four league matches in a row during December and Zabaleta feels that is the kind of consistency they will have to rediscover if they are to achieve their objectives.
"If you want to have a good season, you just need that consistency and be able to play well enough week in week out," the Argentine added.
