Bennett irked by late concession
Wolves defender Ryan Bennett says his team should have got a point after succumbing to a late defeat against Huddersfield.
A 92nd-minute goal from Town forward Steve Mounie was enough to separate the sides in a forgettable contest at the John Smith’s Stadium, meaning Wolves have lost to the league’s bottom side twice this season.
It was a disappointing display from Wolves who missed the opportunity to go back up to seventh in the Premier League, with Watford now having a game in hand.
And, Bennett says that despite the fact the game was a poor quality contest, he and his team-mates should have held on for what could have been a valuable point.
“The first game we played them they played well. We came away from it thinking they’d outplayed us. Tonight was a different story, it was sloppy from both teams, it couldn’t have been a good game to watch, it felt like that," he said.
“There was a bit of a deflection (on the winner) and it was a bit unlucky but we’ve got to bounce back quickly.”
