Doherty - We are making great progress

7th February 2019, 18:59 by Tom Hill

Wolves defender Matt Doherty says his side are pleased with their progress after reaching the fifth round of the FA Cup.

Nuno Espirito Santo's side had to come from behind to book their place in the next round with victory over Shrewsbury.

Doherty grabbed two goals in the win while Ivan Cavaliero hit the winner in an entertaining game at Molineux.

The Republic of Ireland international insists everyone in the squad is in a confident mood ahead of the rest of the season, with the team currently on a training camp in Marbella.

He told reporters: "Everything is going maybe better than everyone expected at the moment.

"But we are where we should be in terms of the quality of player and the players we have. I wouldn't say we are overachieving on that front.

"Other people might be surprised at the way we play and the type of football we played and confidence is really high.

"Everything is going in the right direction and we have to make sure we finish the season off really well, and see how far we can get in the cup."
