Fulham clash could come too soon for Jota

24th December 2018, 11:08 by Simon Barlow

Diogo Jota looks set to miss Wolves' trip to London to face Fulham on Boxing Day as he continues to battle a hamstring injury.

The Portuguese star missed Friday's 2-0 home defeat to Liverpool, after which boss Nuno Espirito Santo confirmed the forward remains a doubt for the next game.

Centre-backs Conor Coady and Ryan Bennett can play but both are now only one caution away from a suspension ahead of the yellow card amnesty.

Nuno, meanwhile, is keen to see more composure from his forwards on Boxing Day after profligate finishing cost his side in front of goal at Molineux on Friday.

"We create, and we have to finish," he said.

"We have to work on our composure, to have that shot."

Wolves have had an extra 24 hours to prepare for the Craven Cottage clash as Fulham made the lengthy trip to Newcastle on Saturday but Nuno does not think that gives his charges an advantage.

"It’s going to be busy for everybody," he added.

"It’s going to be tough for all the teams."
