Ruddy quick to praise Wolves owners

22nd July 2019, 15:39 by Tom Hill

Wolves keeper John Ruddy claims owners Fosun are building something special at the club after their time in Shanghai.

As part of their pre-season campaign, Wolves travelled to China for the Asia Trophy and Ruddy was impressed with the work being done overseas.

Ruddy played his part during the clash with Newcastle United, while he also did his best to promote the club when the players were not in training.

The former Norwich shot-stopper says the owners are making giant strides off the field and the fans should be proud of their work.

He told the club's official website: "It was my first time out here and it's been a great experience. It's great to see what the club are trying to build off the pitch.

"We obviously know what they're trying to do on the pitch, but to see the work that goes on behind the scenes, especially over here, it's great and building that Wolves brand is key to that. It's impressive.

"The owners are a big deal over here and Wolves is a big deal for them – the indication is that they really want to kick on a build something really special.

"We've felt that for the past couple of years and it's nice to see that coming to fruition."
