Villa and Wolves in transfer impasse

4th January 2019, 13:24 by Simon Barlow

Kortney Hause's move to Aston Villa is in danger of collapsing because the Championship club are refusing to meet Wolves' asking price.

The Daily Telegraph claim Villa have offered £2million for the 23-year-old centre-back but Molineux officials want almost double that amount.

Negotiations have now hit an impasse and no deal looks likely before the FA Cup third round signing deadline on Friday.

Wolves are ready to let Hause leave and seem to feel that, with West Bromwich Albion also showing an interest, they don't need to accept the first bid on the table.

The ex-Wycombe defender has been unable to break into Nuno Espirito Santo's line-up over the past two seasons, making just one league appearance under the Portuguese boss.
