Wolves hero targeting cup run
Matt Doherty believes Wolves are capable of going deep into the FA Cup after seeing off Shrewsbury on Tuesday.
The Premier League outfit were held to a 2-2 draw when they met Shrewsbury in the fourth round before they proved too strong in Tuesday’s replay.
Shrewsbury once again put up a solid fight at Molineux but ultimately came away on the wrong side of the 3-2 result.
Doherty netted twice to help seal a fifth-round tie with Championship side Bristol City and he sees no reason why they cannot go even further.
“We’ve got Bristol City in the next round and we always play a strong team, so we will obviously be going there to win the game and then it’s the quarters, you’re only three games away. Not many teams are going to want to play us, so I don’t see why we can’t go quite far,” Doherty told Wolves’ official website.
