Wolves keeping tabs on Benfica teenager

11th February 2019, 11:13 by Bobbie Jackson

Reports claim Wolves have been keeping tabs on Benfica forward Joao Felix ahead of making a summer bid.

The 19-year-old has been watched by some of Europe's top clubs but it appears they are not willing to take a gamble on him just yet.

Their reluctance to move may benefit Wolves as they look to add another Portuguese star to their ranks.

Felix, who came through the ranks at the Stadium of Light, broke into Benfica's first team this term and has netted seven times in eight league starts.

His current deal is set to run until 2023 and Benfica will be able to demand a sizable fee for the attacker.

The youngster is on the books of super-agent Jorge Mendes, who also has very close links with Wolves, and reports claim the Premier League side are confident of using that to their advantage.
