Wolves poised to land Abraham on loan
Wolves are closing in on signing Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham on loan but a permanent summer move is not on the cards.
The 21-year-old has impressed for Aston Villa in the first half of the season, scoring 16 goals in 20 appearances in the Championship, but is wanted by Premier League teams in January.
The Londoners can activate a recall clause and bring him back from Villa before January 14 before then allowing him out on loan again.
Chelsea are not interested in selling the forward on a permanent basis as things stand as they believe he could yet be a future star for them but may be ready to sanction a loan switch to another top-flight club, with Wolves leading the chase.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo wants competition for Raul Jimenez up front in the second half of the season and believes Abraham could be the answer.
There was confusion as to whether Abraham could make the move to Molineux this month as he'd already played for Villa and Chelsea this season but because he only turned out for Chelsea in the Community Shield and an Under-23 game, it's believed a deal for him to move to a third club this month can still go through.
