Bicep injury leaves Broughton on sidelines

25th February 2019, 18:52 by Bobbie Jackson

Catalans Dragons winger Jodie Broughton requires surgery and will be out "long term" after suffering a bicep injury.

The 31-year-old last featured for the Super League outfit in July 2018 after sustaining a cruciate ligament injury.

After a long period in the treatment room he was edging towards a return and turned out in a reserve game on Saturday at Albi.

But his return has been delayed due to a biceps tendon rupture and Broughton will undergo surgery in Perpignan on Monday.

Catalans said in a statement: “Broughton has been ruled out for long term after picking up an arm injury during last Saturday reserve team game at Albi.”
