Brisbane rule out Folau deal
NRL outfit Brisbane Broncos are adamant they are not set to sign controversial rugby union full-back Israel Folau.
The 30-year-old has been linked with a return to rugby league after reaching a settlement with Rugby Australia (RA) over his controversial sacking for writing anti-gay posts on his social media account.
Folau, who has also played in the NRL with Melbourne Storm, had been linked with a return to his former club Brisbane, although the Broncos have now stated no talks have, or will take place with the player.
A statement from the club read: "The Brisbane Broncos can confirm that the club has not expressed any interest in signing Israel Folau.
"Contrary to media speculation, the Broncos have not been part of discussions of any kind with the player.
"The club's roster is settled for the 2020 season. We wish Israel well in the future."
