Fans told to wait for new style
Wigan fans will have to wait until the weather improves before they see a different style of play, according to coach Adrian Lam.
Lam has come into Wigan for a season, until he is replaced by Sean Edwards at the end of the campaign, in place of Shaun Wane, who has left for Scottish Rugby Union, He has plans for a more entertaining style of play but they are unlikely to be on show in their season-opener at St Helens on Thursday night, which has been given the go-ahead despite freezing conditions, and he says fans will have to wait a while to see a change.
"They've been doing something right so I don't want to tinker with that too much," said Lam.
"Obviously I have a different philosophy to the previous coach who has done an amazing job and the players have bought in well to that.
"We'll see how that goes through the season.
"We'll wait until the weather has dried up a bit before that comes into play."
