Farrell ready for Rhinos clash
Liam Farrell says Wigan's clash with Leeds Rhinos is just as big as their opener with St Helens last week.
The Warriors opened up the defence of their Super League crown with a defeat at St Helens last Thursday and need to get a good win under their belts before they concentrate on the World Club Challenge match with Sydney Roosters a week on Sunday.
Despite the Rhinos boasting a much-changed side last week in their heavy defeat at Warrington, Farrell is still expecting a fierce encounter against their old enemies.
He said: “This is just a bigger game as the St Helens derby for me. We will come out with a better mindset and you will see a very different side from us this week, but you could also see a completely different Leeds.
“They’re a quality team and they’ll be looking to bounce back. We’re probably under pressure a little bit with the points reduction we’ve had and the game coming up next week, so we know we need a result and big performance going into the World Club Challenge.
“They’ve had some new structures put in place. From their terms they had a disappointing result last week and they’re looking to bounce back like we are. We’re expecting a big improvement from them, but we’ve not focused on them a lot this week.”
