Hill thanks Cooper for his support
Warrington prop Chris Hill has confirmed Mike Cooper's return to the club tempted him to stay put during the 2017 campaign.
The forward pair were reunited two years ago when Cooper decided to end his stint in the NRL with St. George Illawarra.
Since then, Cooper and Hill have been Warrington's first-choice forward line but the latter admitted he had doubts about his future.
He signed a five-year-deal during the summer of 2017 but the England international admits Cooper's return was the reason he stayed at the Halliwell Jones Stadium.
"We've been playing together now for a few years since he came back from Australia," he told the Warrington Guardian.
"It was a big decision for me to stay here and it was around the time he was coming back. I knew he was on his way back here and he's a good mate of mine. We'd kept in contact while he was over there.
"We just click and get on so well, not just on the field and in training but in life as well.
"We're really close and we'd do anything for each other on the pitch. It would have been a much tougher decision for me if Coops wasn't coming back – it made it a bit easier."
Tom Hill offers a strong insight into football and rugby league, whilst also having a good knowledge of several other sports including boxing, horse racing and American Football.
