Holbrook expecting tough Wakefield battle
Justin Holbrook wants his St Helens side to take their good start to 2019 into Sunday's Super League clash with Wakefield.
Saints kicked off the new season with an impressive 22-12 home victory over defending champions Wigan Warriors last week and they will head to the Mobile Rocket Stadium in confident mood.
Holbrook was certainly pleased to start the campaign in a positive manner, although he insists they cannot afford any let ups this weekend.
"It was great to get off to a winning start against Wigan," Holbrook told reporters. "It was good to make everyone happy in the Town with a Derby win.
"We want to back that up in Round 2 with another good performance against Wakefield."
Wakefield's start to the new season was far less positive as they were beaten on their travels 42-24 by newly promoted London Broncos, but Holbrook insists Trinity are a different proposition on their own patch.
"It’s always a tough place to play, they are very strong at home," the 43-year-old added. "They have a tough pack of forwards, some big, strong outside backs and a dangerous half-back partnership. They are a well-balanced, all-round team.
"I wouldn’t read too much into the London game, it’s their first home game of 2019 and I’m sure they will be tough test for us."
