Hull KR star Ellis ready for pre-season action

19th January 2020, 11:43 by Gareth Freeman

Jamie Ellis hopes he gets plenty of game time when Hull KR face Featherstone Rovers in a pre-season clash on Sunday.

Ellis, 30, spent time on loan with the Robins in 2017, helping them win promotion, and rejoined the club in December from Castleford Tigers.

The half-back arrived with a knee injury but has now returned to full training and is looking forward to the meeting with Featherstone.

He told the Hull Live: "The Fev game is going to be a tough game but hopefully I can get through it with no injuries. Hopefully the knee holds up and then kick on from there."

On his return to KR, he added: "I didn't really want to leave in the first place.

"I love everything about the club and I'm really happy to be back.

"I just want to stay injury free this year, hopefully play well and see where we get to."
