Hull KR win race for New Zealand ace - Reports

6th September 2019, 15:16 by Tom Hill

Hull KR have signed former New Zealand centre Shaun Kenny-Dowall for the 2020 season, according to reports.

The 31-year-old has told reporters in Australia that he will leave Newcastle Knights at the end of the current campaign.

Kenny-Dowall has also confirmed he has joined an unnamed Super League club, thought to be Hull KR.

An injury is currently keeping him on the sidelines but the former Kiwis star is set to be fully fit as he tries to give Tony Smith's men a boost ahead of next season.

The Robins need to maintain their place in the top flight in order to sanction the deal and Smith's men are currently 11th with two rounds of the regular season remaining.

Smith's men take on bottom-club London Broncos on September 6, while Salford Red Devils will welcome them to the AJ Bell Stadium on September 15.
