Johnson completes Cronulla switch
NRL outfit Cronulla Sharks have signed New Zealand half-back Shaun Johnson on a three-year contract.
The Kiwi playmaker has been linked with a move since former club New Zealand Warriors told him they would not be offering him a new deal.
Despite plenty of speculation, Johnson was spotted meeting with Cronulla coach Shane Ferguson and the Sharks have now beaten the Sydney Roosters to his signature.
After a stressful week, Johnson admits he is pleased to have his future confirmed ahead of the 2019 season.
He told reporters: "It’s been a crazy few weeks but it’s good to lock it all away. I can’t wait to get over here and to rip in. It’s really exciting.
"I want to add value where I can. The Sharks are a tough side, they know how to win and that’s what I’m excited to be a part of."
