Lam confident in youth players
Wigan Warriors head coach Adrian Lam says his young players have what it takes to help them compete for honours this season.
Last season's Grand Final winners have an extensive injury list to cope with at the moment as Sean O'Loughlin, Ben Flower, and Joe Burgess sit out of action.
Those injuries have led to opportunities for academy graduates such as Morgan Smithies, Oliver Partington and Liam Byrne, who all figured in their impressive 20-6 home win against Warrington on Friday to go level on points with the second-place side.
Despite their collective lack of experience, Lam is confident his young players can step up and help deliver silverware this season.
"We had a few teenagers in there against Warrington who did all right, which was handy," said the Warriors coach.
"We believe in them, and they've got better with every match they've played.
"We could have given them fewer minutes or played them off the bench, but they're going so well."
