Lam dismisses Hastings concern

13th December 2019, 12:28 by Alex Jack

Wigan Warriors boss Adrian Lam has cooled rumours half-back Jackson Hastings won't complete his move to the DW Stadium.

Hastings has been brought in as a replacement for England international George Williams, who has decided to make the switch to the Canberra Raiders in the NRL.

There was some speculation Hastings was having second thoughts on completing the switch from Salford to Wigan, but Lam has played that down and is excited to have the Great Britain playmaker on board.

"I met with him in New Zealand when I was over there with the Kangaroos and he's really excited about coming to the club," Lam said. "He sat down with the Wigan boys and had a good chat.

"Obviously he's having a break now with his family in Australia, I know it's been in the media but from my side of things and the club's perspective, we're expecting him at training on January 3.

"He knows his starting date, I'm expecting him here then and on my behalf I'm looking forward to having him here."
