Leeds not in for Storm trio
Dave Furner says Leeds Rhinos are not interested in the trio of Melbourne Storm players, who are free to leave the NRL.
The Australian side are taking measures to lower their salary cap and have contacted Super League clubs to inform them that Sam Kasiano, Cheyse Blair and Patrick Kaufusi are all up for grabs.
It comes as no surprise to see the Rhinos linked with a move for at least one of the players, but Furner has cooled the rumours and says he is satisfied with his squad despite the departures of Josh Walters, Anthony Mullally and Jack Ormondroyd.
“I’m happy with what we’ve got at the moment,” he said
When quizzed further about the Storm trio, Furner said there are no plans in the pipeline.
“One of the names we were linked to was Kasiano, but that’s simply not right,” he added. “At this stage here, my focus is the team I’ve got here and I’m looking at the strengths and weaknesses of the group.
“For me, it’s been pleasing to see how the group is adapting to some changes to how we play.”
