Lions the pinnacle for Burgess
England forward George Burgess says the opportunity to represent Great Britain would be the highlight of his career if he is chosen.
The Rugby League Lions will be back in action in the autumn, having not played as a side since 2007, and will take on New Zealand in two games along with encounters against Papua New Guinea and Tonga.
Having seen his brother and fellow South Sydney Rabbitohs star Sam Burgess play for the Lions back in 07, George Burgess knows the value of the jersey and claims it would be a honour to earn selection for the southern hemisphere tour.
"I grew up watching the Lions and it was a proud moment for our family when Sam debuted in 2007," he said.
"Who would have thought it would be another 12 years until we see them again? I'm just glad it's come around while I'm still playing.
"To pull that jersey on would definitely be the pinnacle of my career, it's something I've dreamt about as a kid."
