McNamara loses Goudemand for season start
Catalans Dragons coach Steve McNamara must do without forward Mickael Goudemand for the start of the 2020 Super League campaign.
The 23-year-old has been forced to go under the knife to resolve a finger injury and reports have suggested the back-row will be out of action for the next 12 weeks.
Missing a large chunk of pre-season means it will take a while for Goudemand to get up to speed, while the youngster is expected to miss games against Huddersfield Giants, Wakefield Trinity, Castleford Tigers, St Helens, Hull FC and Salford Red Devils.
Goudemand, who has four caps for France to his name, will be a loss of the Perpignan outfit at the start of the season, having made 20 appearances for Catalans last season.
The powerful runner made his debut for Catalans in 2018 and was part of the side that managed to win the club's first major pieces of silverware in the Challenge Cup that year.
