Milner facing short-term lay-off
Castleford Tigers head coach Daryl Powell expects Adam Milner to miss just a week of action after sustaining an ankle injury.
The forward picked up the injury in the 40-6 victory over London Broncos last Saturday and the medical team feared he could be set for a lengthy absence.
But Powell has confirmed the injury isn't as severe as first thought and he believes Milner will return to the fold after Friday’s meeting with Hull KR.
Powell said: "It's positive news for Adam, not for this week but on the whole. He's had a fair bit of treatment but there is no break.
"He's in a fair bit of pain but he will probably be available next week."
Milner joins Mike McMeeken, Oliver Holmes, Alex Foster, Mitch Clark, Jamie Ellis and Ben Roberts on the sidelines.
Powell says he is likely to hand out another debut after calling up Lewis Peache, Cory Aston and Jacques O'Neill, who were reserves at the weekend.
He added: "There will be another opportunity this week for someone to make a debut.
"We have nobody else to come in from our senior group of players so we will give an opportunity to a young man who deserves it."
