Pearson excited for new campaign

1st January 2019, 13:44 by Aidan Perkins

Hull FC owner Adam Pearson has vowed the Super League club "intend to put right a few wrongs from last year" in the 2019 season.

The Black and Whites finished last season in dismal form after 11 straight defeats left them bottom of the Super 8s.

Injuries played their part although Pearson is optimistic for the start of the new campaign, which begins for Lee Radford's side with the derby clash against Hull KR on February 1.

Pearson says the excitement is building for the big kick-off, while he paid tribute to the club's fans, with over 8,000 already committed to the cause at the KCOM Stadium.

He told the club's website: "We cannot wait for the new season to get underway and we intend to put right a few wrongs from last year and show what our club and this team is all about.

"Our members and supporters have continued to stand by us again this year, with over 8,000 people already signed up to support the club again in 2019.

"This shows why we firmly believe our members are the most committed in the game. They understand the club, the challenges we have had to overcome and stand with us with excitement, enthusiasm and passion ahead of the new Super League season."

He added: "As we welcome back key players from long-term injuries over the coming month or so, with a clean bill of health and a renewed hunger, we hope to show exactly what this club and our team are all about.

"On behalf of everyone at the club, I want to express my gratitude and thanks to all of our members who have shown their commitment to us once again this season and we hope we can do their support justice as we head into 2019."
