Powell happy with Tigers

16th April 2018, 12:34 by Nick Harris

Daryl Powell has heaped praise on his Castleford Tigers side after seeing them climb into the top four in the Super League.

Castleford now sit just four points behind league leaders St Helens and have two games in hand on the top side and Powell is delighted with their efforts.

After a 41-0 thrashing of Catalans Dragons on Sunday, Powell claims he is beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel and was happy with the performance against the French outfit.

“We put a lot of focus on wanting to start second halves better but chilling out a bit and enjoying what we’re doing," he said.

“Defensively we were outstanding and right from the off we had a mentality about us that was a bit different today. It’s a big deal for us.

“The fact that we’re building scores and showing more patience we have in the past. Both sides showed a lot of control."
