Price happy with quick start to season
Warrington boss Steve Price has praised his side for their display in Saturday's convincing home win over the Leeds Rhinos.
The Wolves were handed a tricky 2019 Super League opener against the Rhinos but last season's Grand Final runners-up put down an early marker as they steamrolled Dave Furner's men.
Stefan Ratchford, Josh Charnley and Daryl Clark all crossed the white line to give the hosts a 20-point lead at the break before debutant Blake Austin grabbed his first try for the club after the interval.
Next up for Warrington is a home clash against Hull KR, who edged past city-rivals FC in their opener, and Price says his team are looking in good shape after the win over Leeds.
"I thought we played some good footy in the first half and scored some really good tries," he said. "We played with 12 men for 20 minutes so it was a really good first hit-out, the boys are in a good place.
"The first sin-binning sparked us, we started to play some aggressive footy. I thought there were periods in the second half when we went into our shell but defensively we were quite sound."
