Radford hails players for pre-season showing
Hull FC coach Lee Radford says his players have stepped up to the plate in a physically challenging pre-season.
The players reported to the club’s Elite Performance Centre for the first time after their Christmas break on Thursday morning.
They are just 11 days away from their first pre-season clash against Doncaster, after having a poor season last year when they failed to challenge for the play-off spots in Super League.
However, Radford feels the players have gained an extra gear this pre-season and says they are ready to get back into action.
“The schedule for the players has been set out really well by the strength and conditioning coaches and it’s great to see that they are all pushing themselves to their personal limits," Radford explained.
"Naturally there are some creaks in one or two of them but that’s no surprise after what they’ve been through over the last seven weeks, so hopefully the three-day rest will have done them good.
"It’s been a really tough pre-season, but it’s been a deliberately tough one and hopefully the players can see their hard work pay off in 2019."
