Radford urges youngsters to take their chance
Hull FC coach Lee Radford has urged his team to make an impression in pre-season with places in his team still up for grabs.
The Black and Whites kick off their pre-season campaign on Sunday when they take on League One side Doncaster.
After a shocking end to the 2018 season, Radford is eager to see what his team can do as they try to make amends after a poor effort in the play-offs.
Although a young and inexperienced side will take the field, Radford insists some could force their way into his plans.
"My pecking order can definitely change this month and it’s an opportunity for players to put themselves in the shop window," Radford told Hull Live.
"Everyone is looking forward to playing. Those who have been in pre-season since day one are ready for a game. I know I’m ready for one as well. It’s the first opportunity for some of them to add to what has already been a strong pre-season.
"It will be a good gauge for the coaching staff as well. I want to see a couple of things we have been working on as a team come to fruition – both defensively and with the ball in hand.
"I am looking forward to seeing some of the blokes who have been in since the start of the pre-season getting a game. I know they are ready."
