Rhinos exit worked out for the best - Lolohea
Tui Lolohea says his abrupt departure from the Leeds Rhinos ended up working out for the best and he's now enjoying life at Salford.
After just 17 games into a three-year deal at Headingley, Lolohea claims he learned via the press that his time with Leeds was to be brought to an end.
In a swap deal, with Robert Lui going in the opposite direction, Lolohea ended up plying his trade with the Red Devils and helping the side reach a first-ever Grand Final last season.
The Tongan international has admitted it was a shock to see his time with the Rhinos end but the 25-year-old stand-off feels everything worked out.
"Hearing about it through the media was the hardest part," he told the official Super League website. "I didn't really have much of a say - there were a couple of options I had to choose from, and it was made clear to me that if I were to stay at Leeds, I wouldn't get much game time.
"Salford was best option. There's no point in staying around if you're not wanted.
"I look back at it now and it was probably the best move for me.
"It's not how I expected it to go, but it ended up working out well."
