RL to expand to Liverpool
Former Salford owner Marwan Koukash is looking to set up a Liverpool based rugby league franchise.
The former Red Devils owner had been trying to take over at Widnes Vikings but was unable to do a deal and he has now apparently turned his attention to creating his own club in Liverpool.
The City has become more prominent in the sport in recent years following a Test Match between England and New Zealand at Anfield and this season's Magic Weekend will also be at the home of Liverpool FC.
Home and away kits have already been designed and Liverpool RLFC Twitter page has been created.
One of the tweets by the new account states: “Liverpool RLFC will be built on solid financial foundations, with a CEO who cares for the club, real sponsors and one that treats its supporters with respect, not like a cash cow.”
