Saints bow already on Coote's mind

6th December 2018, 14:21 by Nick Harris

New full-back Lachlan Coote can't wait to feature in St Helens's opening day clash with arch rivals Wigan in the Super League.

Next month's season opener is the eagerly awaited clash between the two great rivals and new signing Coote has already been alerted to how important the match is.

The 28-year-old, who is expected to replace Ben Barba at full-back, says he knows all about rivalries having played for North Queensland Cowboys against fierce adversaries the Brisbane Broncos in the Queensland Derby.

said:''There has been a little bit of a chat about the derby since I arrived and I'm really looking forward to it.'

'I love being part of local rivalry which I experienced at home against the Broncos and I'm sure a Saints-Wigan game will not disappoint me.''
