Saints focus pleases Holbrook
St Helens boss Justin Holbrook has hailed the focus of his side after seeing them outclass Wakefield 26-6 on Friday.
News came through this week that the Australian coach will be heading home at the end of the season to take the reins at NRL side Gold Coast Titans.
The news did not seem to hinder Saints as they ran in four tries, one of which came from scrum-half Danny Richardson, who also kicked five goals.
Friday's result extended St Helens' lead at the top of the Super League to 12 points, with second-placed Warrington in action at Catalans Dragons on Saturday.
Holbrook admitted it had been a tough week for everyone at the Totally Wicked Stadium and said it was a credit to his players that they did not let the situation affect them.
"It was a really good performance from us tonight after an emotional week," he said.
"It has been very tough and I'm trying not to make it about me. I was really proud of the way they played tonight.
"Defensively we were fantastic and I thought we handled the second half well and got the win, which was the main thing tonight."
