Shenton blow for Tigers
Castleford Tigers star Michael Shenton faces at least two months on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
Injuries have hit the Tigers hard this season with them already missing Luke Gale, Grant Millington, Jesse Sene-Lefao and Junior Moors to injury and now Shenton can be added to the list of walking wounded.
The Cas captain picked up the ankle injury during the defeat against Catalans Dragons, and head coach Daryl Powell has revealed it is not good news.
"We've got senior players missing at the moment and that's where we're at," Powell told BBC Radio Leeds. "There's not a lot we can do about it. We've just got to get on with what we've got.
"It's potentially 8 to 10 weeks so it is pretty tough to take for Shenny and for us as well. He's an influential and important player for us and that gives another opportunity for somebody else.
"We've got 19 fit players. There are quite a few young players in that as well. It is what it is, this time of year is always difficult."
