Tigers sweating over halfback
Castleford Tigers are anxiously waiting news about Luke Gale after the halfback sustained an injury in training.
The 30-year-old is one of the more experienced members of the set up at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle but Tigers may have to cope without him for the 2019 campaign.
Reports claim he injured his Achilles during a pre-season training session over the weekend and the Super League side will send him for scans early next week.
It will be an anxious wait for news on the full extent of the injury which comes just days after the club handed Gale the number seven shirt for the upcoming season.
The former Bradford Bulls man, who was presented with the Rhino “Top Gun” award last season, helped Castleford to finish in the play-offs last season, although they lost 14-0 to Grand Final winners Wigan Warriors in the last four.
