Wigan star excited for Barca bash
Wigan's Romain Navarrete says he is already looking forward to his team's game with the Catalans at Camp Nou in May.
The prop spent two seasons with the Dragons before moving to the DW Stadium ahead of the 2017 campaign and was a key part of this year's Grand Final victory.
It means they now face NRL champions Sydney Roosters in the World Club Challenge on February 17 but Navarette is also looking forward to another occasion.
Barcelona's iconic Camp Bou stadium is set to host Wigan on May 18 and the hard-running forward says he is already excited about the match.
"I’m looking forward to it," said Navarrete. "It's a good opportunity to play over there, play in Barcelona in that magnificent stadium. It's very nice and I'm looking forward to playing Catalans over there.”
However, the 24-year-old acknowledges he needs to work hard over the next month to ensure he is in contention for his side's opening fixture on January 31 at St Helens.
"I need to do a good pre-season and a good first game in the friendlies," he added. "I need to play good and hopefully I will start the season against Saints."
