Williams race hots up
New Zealand Warriors are thought to be the latest NRL outfit to have joined the race to sign Wigan half-back George Williams.
The England international has attracted plenty of interest with his performances for the reigning Super League champions, with Canberra Raiders thought to be the frontrunners to land the player.
However, the capital outfit Down Under look like they will face competition from the New Zealand Warriors, the latest club to be connected with the playmaker.
Reports suggested Williams would be offered a three-year contract by the Raiders although the fee to land Williams might have put Canberra off progressing with the move.
This could open the door for the New Zealand Warriors to make a move for another Wigan star, having previously landed former DW Stadium favourite Sam Tomkins in the past.
Williams' current deal at Wigan lasts until the end of the 2020 season although the Lancashire outfit have the option of a further year.
