Woolford relieved after crucial win
Simon Woolford admitted to being a relieved man after Huddersfield produced a late show at Hull FC on Friday.
After demonstrating plenty of guts in defence, the Giants got their reward late on when Louis Senior and Matt Frawley went over to hand them a 22-12 victory.
The victory moves Huddersfield two points clear of the bottom two of Hull KR and London Broncos, with St Helens and the Catalans their last two opponents.
For Hull, it was a missed chance in their bid to secure a play-off spot, especially with Castleford losing 4-0 at Saints.
The night belonged to Huddersfield though and while admitting to being proud of his side, Woolford also conceded his relief.
"It's obviously a huge relief for the players and the club. It was tremendous," he said. "We defended our goal line there for long periods in the second half. In previous weeks, we have buckled.
"At half-time we were a little bit unlucky to be behind. I knew we were going to come on over the top of them in the second half. Thankfully we came up with some big plays when we needed to.
"I was really confident at half-time. I was confident all week really. Don't ask me where it's been all year."
