World Cup winner snubs Catalans
Cronulla Sharks back Josh Dugan has turned down a contract offer from Catalans Dragons, according to reports in Australia.
The 29-year-old has spent his entire career playing in his homeland with Canberra Raiders, St George Illawarra and most recently Cronulla Sharks.
He linked up with Sharks in 2018 and still has two years left to run on his contract with the New South Wales outfit.
Dugan has endured a frustrating time since making the move to the Southern Cross Group Stadium, making just 37 appearances, due to a string of injuries and isn't guaranteed regular rugby in 2020.
Sione Katoa, William Kennedy, Ronaldo Mulitalo, Josh Morris and Matt Moylan are set to offer serious competition for a starting role but Dugan wants to stay and fight for his place.
Reports claim Catalans offered the Australia international a route out but the deal falls well below his current $800,000-per-season salary.
