Barritt fit for Munster semi showdown
Skipper Brad Barritt has declared himself fit after an ankle injury for Saracens' European Champions Cup semi-final against Munster.
The 32-year-old looked like he had played his last game of the season when he suffered the injury late on in Saracens' 56-27 quarter-final victory over Glasgow on March 30 but he has made swift progress in his recovery.
Barritt has confirmed he is fine to lead his side at Coventry's Ricoh Arena in the semi and he's delighted with the work physio Richard Bamford has put in to help him get back sooner than expected.
"In terms of pain, I had a pretty good inclination; I thought it was quite serious," he said. "But we have put a lot of time and effort into trying to turn it around.
"It is probably credit to Richard Bamford, who has been looking after me every day for the last three weeks."
He added: "If this game was a week later you probably would have only pushed for four weeks. But the nature of this game was three weeks and we wanted to give every chance to try to make it happen.
"So I'm just thankful it wasn't something that ruled me out for the rest of the season."
