Baxter uncertain over length of Cuthbert absence
Exeter Chiefs director of rugby Rob Baxter has revealed experienced wing Alex Cuthbert is set for another spell on the sidelines.
The Wales winger is expected to be out of action for an extended spell after it was confirmed the 29-year-old would require an operation on his hamstring injury.
Baxter has been unable to confirm exactly how long the Chiefs will have to do without Cuthbert and that a timeframe for recovery will be better known after surgery.
"His hamstring is worse than we initially thought," Baxter said. "It's one of those operations where we're not going to know how bad it is until they're in there and exploring it a little bit, so he's going to be out for a little while."
The injuries on the wings have been piling up for the Chiefs, with Tom O'Flaherty thought to have picked up his own hamstring problem in the 38-3 victory over Wasps.
Exeter are next in action on Sunday when they travel to Sale Sharks in the European Champions Cup.
