Boyd updates fans on Hartley

23rd March 2019, 17:41 by Tom Hill

Northampton director of rugby Chris Boyd has revealed hooker Dylan Hartley is "in a really good space" as he battles a knee injury.

The England international has been out since December with the issue and he missed the entire Six Nations campaign.

Jamie George filled in at hooker under Eddie Jones but Hartley is desperate to return to the fold.

Northampton say Hartley is doing well with his recovery and they now expect him to return in "three to six weeks" time.

Boyd told Sky Sports: "Dylan has been to the specialist. It was really positive. I'm not sure when, but I'm really optimistic Dylan will play some football before the end of the season.

"He might be three to six weeks, but he's in a really good space."
