Cockerill out to avoid Wasps string
Edinburgh head coach Richard Cockerill feels his side will have to be at their best if they are to beat Wasps on Friday night.
Cockerill's side are currently top of Pool Three, with two points between themselves and third-placed Wasps going into Friday's European Challenge Cup at Murrayfield.
The former Leicester Tigers head coach is fully aware of the threats Wasps posses, especially in their backline packed with New Zealand talent.
"It's going to be a great battle," Cockerill said. "Wasps are a good team, but we know that, if we put our best game on the field, we'll more than compete with them.
"However, if we're sloppy and inaccurate then they will punish us. They've got an All Black in the centre, they've got an All Black at 10 and they've got Jimmy Gopperth, a former All Black playing at 12. So they've got some real quality there."
Edinburgh will welcome back Scotland winger Darcy Graham for his opening game of the season at club level.
However, the hosts will be without centre Matt Scott and John Barclay, who this week retired from international duty with Scotland, due to injury.
