England star delighted with Ireland win

3rd February 2019, 16:08 by Gareth Freeman

England star Manu Tuilagi says the Six Nations win over Ireland in Dublin on Saturday is one of the biggest victories of his career.

The Red Rose hadn't beaten Ireland in Dublin in six years but they ended that winless streak with a 32-20 win at the Aviva Stadium in their Six Nations opener.

Tuilagi has been involved in some big matches for his country and played a key role in England's win over New Zealand at Twickenham in 2012, and he feels the victory over Ireland may well be the greatest success of his international career so far.

“It’s right up there for me,” he said, as reported by the official Six Nations website. “It’s the first game of the Six Nations, Ireland are the best in Europe and second in the world for a reason."

He added: “It’s been a while for me in the Six Nations – it was nice to be back out there and to enjoy the whole atmosphere right from the start.”
