Falcons tie down Scots hero Harris
Newcastle Falcons have tied down centre Chris Harris to a new two-year deal, just days after he scored his first try for Scotland.
The 28-year-old, who made his Falcons debut against Saracens in December 2014 and has made 93 appearances for the Premiership outfit, enjoyed a good weekend as he scored the fifth try off the bench in his seventh cap for the Scots as they defeated Italy 33-20 in their Six Nations opener at Murrayfield.
Speaking on his new deal at Kingston Park, Harris said on the Falcons' website: "They've been my only professional club, we have a great group of boys and I want to stay and be part of something special here."
Newcastle director of rugby Dean Richards added: "Chris is a very consistent performer who has worked hard to become a Premiership regular and earn full international honours."
The news of Harris' deal follows on from 25-year-old full-back Simon Hammersley also signing a new two-year contract with the Falcons at the end of last week.
