Genge a big boost for England - Monye
Former England wing Ugo Monye believes Ellis Genge can offer the national side a lot in years to come.
The 24-year-old was invited back into the England camp for the Six Nations Championship after a string of impressive displays for Leicester Tigers.
He proved his worth by scoring the winning try in the 13-6 triumph over Scotland at Murrayfield last weekend and could become a regular feature.
Monye, who made 14 appearances for the Red Rose between 2008 and 2012, believes Genge is fully deserving of his chance and feels the prop is "maturing".
"Ellis is getting praise for some of his performances of late and rightly so," said Monye in his column in The Guardian.
"He has always been incredible in the loose, but I think his scrummaging has come on leaps and bounds recently.
"I'm sure it has always been a big focus, but it has always been trumped by what he can do ball in hand. He's maturing as a player, too."
