Kerrod set for Quins move

21st March 2019, 13:01 by James Mason

Simon Kerrod will leave Worcester for Harlequins at the end of the season after a deal was agreed between the two clubs.

South African Kerrod has been with the Warriors since 2017 when he joined from Jersey Reds but he will be making the switch to Harlequins after the 2018/19 campaign comes to a close.

Reacting to his upcoming move, the 26-year-old prop told the club's website: "It is an incredibly exciting time to be joining Harlequins. I can sense the passion that (head of rugby) Paul Gustard and his team have instilled in the players and I know they are hungry to win trophies there.

"I look forward to getting started next season and can’t wait to see what the future holds for this great club which already has such an illustrious history."

Head of Rugby Paul Gustard also commented on the deal, saying: "We have been monitoring Simon over the last few months and we know he is a player who can bring great value to our squad.

"He has strong technical ability in an area that is critical to success in the Premiership and off the field he has proven to be a person of integrity and determination. The scrum and lineout in England is a fiercely contested area and its importance to league success is well documented."
