New deal delights De Klerk
South Africa scrum-half Faf de Klerk says he is humbled by Sale's offer to extend his contract until 2023.
The 27-year-old joined the Sharks in May 2017 and has gone on to make 34 appearances, scoring 146 points in the process.
De Klerk's form saw him nominated for both the Premiership and World Rugby player of the year awards and the club have now tied him down to a new four-year deal.
Director of rugby Steve Diamond has described the Springbok half-back as "truly world-class" and the former Golden Lions star says he is delighted to be staying at the AJ Bell.
"It's humbling to know a club wants to extend your contract," he said. "I would not have re-signed if I did not enjoy it here in the north west and really do believe in what we are trying to achieve here at Sale."
